A little about what to expect when you work with me.

the Mission

Time dedicated to healing our relationships with food and our bodies has the power to change not only our relationships with ourselves, but the ways we see and relate to those around us as well.

I work hard in my own life and with my clients to challenge and dismantle the oppressive systems at play {that also benefit from our body dissatisfaction and minds consumed by thoughts about food and negative self-talk}. The unapologetic and intentional meeting of our physical care needs is a revolutionary act in a culture consistently teaching us to restrict, deny, and control our appetites and bodies. I’d love the chance to gently explore, with you, where it feels possible to push back in your own life… and revive trust in yourself and your body.

I’m here to support you.

Where I Can Help

The behaviors you have learned to cope, have likely served you quite effectively in some very important ways. When they also hold potential for harm or it becomes very clear they are no longer serving you in the best capacities, I’m here to help you find a new path.

I can help you navigate healing in the following areas:

  • Disordered Eating

  • Chronic or Yo-You Dieting Patterns

  • Weight Cycling

  • Body Image Distress

  • Compulsive Exercise

  • Food Obsession

  • Orthorexia

  • Binge Eating Disorder

  • Anorexia Nervosa

  • Bulimia Nervosa

  • Other Specified Feeding and Eating Disorders (OSFED)

Our Services

Initial Nutrition Assessment

A 75-minute comprehensive review of your nutrition history and goals, and a chance to get to know each other.

  • This time together lays the foundation for our future work.

  • The first half of the assessment is all about YOU – who you are and what you value. The second half explores current and former nutrition-related habits, patterns, and behaviors.

Ongoing Nutrition Counseling

50-minute follow-up appointments to reflect on your progress and to set realistic & progressive goals aligned with your values.

  • This time ultimately supports your ability to experiment and engage with physical self-care practices & habits. We most often focus on your goals related to nourishment, rest, hydration, sleep, and movement.

  • We are trained to help you explore the self-care behaviors that are working effectively for you, and those you wish were different. You can expect your experience to be central to our work together. We are also hopeful this time is an enjoyable time to reset and reflect.

Grocery Shopping

Whatever your shopping challenges, be it that you find yourself spending hours at the grocery store, avoiding it entirely, or anywhere in between, we will help you discover and utilize new strategies to bring more peace to your grocery shopping experience.

  • Grocery store experientials aim to make your time in the store, or however you purchase groceries, more comfortable and accessible.

  • After learning more about the ways you’d like your shopping experience to be different, we will create a plan together that is gradual, progressive, and well-supported. Some clients find that one trip to the grocery store together meets this need, and some that it takes a few trips to meet their goals.

Meal Support

Meals together give us a chance to experiment with different settings, tools, and environments to see what feels best to you when working through meal challenges.

  • Our goal here is often for meals to feel less “charged” and more secure, to support your ability to be more present, or whatever other meal-related goals you may have!

  • We will plan meals together that incorporate a challenging food or mimic a challenging but common scenario for you. As always, this work is completed thoughtfully and gradually.

Food Exposures

We can support you in challenging your food fears to move you closer to freedom with food.

  • We can support your ability to eat a wider variety of foods, if this is a desire of yours. Clients often choose to work with foods that are central to the cultural traditions of their families or communities, or that otherwise foster connection and relationship.

  • First, we will identify the foods that you would like to be able to incorporate into your diet with more ease. Then, we create a gradual and progressive plan to have these foods in a way that honors your level of readiness.
